About HOS

The primary mission of this school is to educate, promote, establish, and equip students in the classical approach to education in light of a Christian world view grounded in the Old and New Testaments. The mission of the school is to educate through the classical approach to ensure that our Western heritage is not lost. This will be accomplished through association with other classical schools in the Association of Classical Christian Schools. Through various means we will seek an educational standard for a unified and directed approach to classical and Christian learning.

Our mission is also to teach through a methodology known as the Trivium (grammar, logic and rhetoric), which is the educational and classical foundation of our western culture. We believe that God will bless this approach as He has in the past, as long as it follows the principles of His Word.

We believe that Christianity must be studied in light of its impact on Western culture, and that it must be a part of every subject. In recognizing that our cultural heritage is from God, we do not idolize it but we ground all that we seek to do upon the revelation of God, both in creation and Scripture, with the former being interpreted by the latter. As a classical and Christian school, we are seeking to integrate all our teaching around the revealed Word of God.

Kingdom Chronicles by Answers in Genesis

Kingdom-Chronicles-Logo_FINAL-1024x10241 copy

Standing Strong in the Battle for Truth

“Truth is relative. There are no absolutes. Truth is what you make it.” These are the messages our children are hearing everyday from their teachers, friends, movies, and books. But the Bible plainly teaches that God is truth and always tells the truth in His Word.

 Which is right?

It’s clear we’re in a battle—a battle for truth between God’s good kingdom and the Enemy’s bad kingdom. We need to help our children stand strong in this battle by equipping them with the armor of God. At The Kingdom Chronicles, each day, they’ll learn to put on another piece of God’s armor that Paul writes about in Ephesians (Ephesians 6:10–18). As they fasten on the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, the shoes of peace, the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, covering everything with prayer, they’ll learn how to become mighty warriors for the Creator King of Kings!

 Main Focus

Of course, the most important reason we want to encourage kids to trust the absolute truth of God’s Word is so that they’ll embrace the salvation message woven throughout each book. Our desire is that they’ll understand that they are each born as sinners—citizens of the enemy’s kingdom—and need to be saved into God’s good eternal kingdom through repentance and faith in Jesus Christ, the Savior King.

Adventure awaits as we mount our trusty steeds and ride to Answers VBS’s The Kingdom Chronicles, where kids stand strong in the battle for truth!

Heritage Oak School Play

Tickets are available at the Beekay box office.

Big Play Poster Northwoods copy

Heritage Oak School Play – North Woods Nonsense

The fast action centers around a run-down hotel lobby in Moose Bottom Lake in northern Maine, where handyman Pete has written a newspaper article about Bigfoot kidnapping a local resident. Did we mention the story is complete fiction and was published in that tacky tabloid, “The National Divulger”? Nevertheless, the rumored sighting of Sasquatch provides the perfect excuse for Birch and Pine, assistants to the worst congressman in history, to suggest a trip to the senator. They have spent their careers trying to hide the inept congressman so he won’t speak in public and divulge his ludicrous ideas, such as turning the Grand Canyon into a giant lake! But with reporters hot on the congressman’s trail and lunatic guests pursuing Bigfoot, you can imagine the zany fun that converges at the hotel… especially when Pete decides the guests really should get a chance to see Bigfoot!

Our Nursery

Our Purpose

“We will not all sleep, but we will all be changed” 1 Corinthians 15:51

“We will not all sleep, but we will all be changed” 1 Corinthians 15:51

The purpose of our nursery is to provide a safe, loving, and God-centered environment for your child so that you can worship, grow, and serve with peace of mind.

We accept children from birth to 2 years of age. At 18 months, parents have the option of graduating their child to the toddlers and 2’s class.

Our nursery features 3 rooms: an infant/crawler room, a walker/toddler room and a sleeping room. All of our caregivers are faithful Christians who have been appropriately screened and trained. They will rock, walk, feed, play with and pray for your child. Diapers will also be checked and changed as needed. Snack will be provided upon request. Nursing mothers are welcome any time.

Nursery Instructions

From infancy you have known the Holy Scriptures which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. 2 Timothy 3:15

Alumni of GKGW can come any time for a refresher or to make up classes they missed. We would like to invite any and all parents from Heritage Oak School or the community, who have previously completed “Growing Kids God’s Way”, to attend any desired sessions.

If you are interested in taking a refresher on all or some of the topics taught, or if you need to make up a particular lesson from a current or past class, we would love for you to join our current class. Please check the schedule for when the classes are being held. All class members (current and past) are always welcome to the ending potluck to celebrate completion of the course. Let’s all continue to grow in Christ as we raise our children according to God’s Word.

Sunday School & Seeds of Faith

When your family first arrives at Country Oaks, you will want to head to the chapel where our registration/check-in table is located. We want to provide a safe and welcoming environment for you and your children, so we have set up a computerized check-in program called Lamb’sList. Allow our friendly Lamb’sList servants to greet you, help you check-in, and find your way to the appropriate classrooms. Each child will receive an adhesive information tag, which includes the child’s name, the parent’s names, classroom, and a 3-digit security code. The parent will receive a small “claim ticket” with the matching 3-digit code for each of their children. Parents who utilize our nursery will receive a pager so you can be called if your baby is in need of your attention.

9:00am Worship Service

Our 9:00am Sunday School program is for the whole family, but we are particularly excited about our unified Bible curriculum. “Generations of Grace” takes K-12 students through a three-year tour of the Bible. Each child in your family will receive teaching on the same portion of Scripture so that you can continue the discussion in the car on the way home and throughout the week in the home. The bulletin and church website provide the Scripture reference, themes, and sample questions as conversation starters. This is a wonderful tool for parents to be “pastors of their homes”.

10:30 a.m. Worship Service

At our 10:30 AM service, we invite the whole family to worship together. We believe it is important for children to see the entire Body of Christ praising God. However, we recognize that most young children are not developmentally ready to participate in a 45 minute exposition of Scripture. So, during the sermon, we dismiss the children to “Seeds of Faith.” This program provides systematic theology at age appropriate levels for children up to sixth grade. The curriculum we use is extremely God-centered instead of child-centered. We understand that our children are already too focused on themselves. We want to give them a great, big view of God so that they will be filled with awe and a desire to fear and love God and obey His commands.

Our Pre-School and Elementary children’s Groups are a perfect complement to the Adult Programs. Taught by people who love to share Jesus with children, Country Oaks provides a safe environment for your children to learn and grow. The purpose of COBC is to lead people of all ages into a loving relationship with Jesus Christ as Lord.
