The primary mission of this school is to educate, promote, establish, and equip students in the classical approach to education in light of a Christian world view grounded in the Old and New Testaments. The mission of the school is to educate through the classical approach to ensure that our Western heritage is not lost. This will be accomplished through association with other classical schools in the Association of Classical Christian Schools. Through various means we will seek an educational standard for a unified and directed approach to classical and Christian learning.
Our mission is also to teach through a methodology known as the Trivium (grammar, logic and rhetoric), which is the educational and classical foundation of our western culture. We believe that God will bless this approach as He has in the past, as long as it follows the principles of His Word.
We believe that Christianity must be studied in light of its impact on Western culture, and that it must be a part of every subject. In recognizing that our cultural heritage is from God, we do not idolize it but we ground all that we seek to do upon the revelation of God, both in creation and Scripture, with the former being interpreted by the latter. As a classical and Christian school, we are seeking to integrate all our teaching around the revealed Word of God.

In addition, he has received a B.S. in Biblical Studies and a B.S. in Human/Family Development from Grace University in Omaha, Nebraska. Dan is licensed as a pastor and as a Biblical Marriage/Family Therapist and is the author of “Helping Teens at Risk of Suicide.” He and his wife Carli have two children. Teens, summer Bible Studies will begin on Thursday, June 13. Junior High Bible Study meets at the church from 10-12pm. High School Bible Study will be meeting at Nathan Hiner’s house on Thursdays from 6:30-8:00pm. Both studies will go to around August 15, 2013. Topic: Colossians.
Student Ministries is all about teens learning how to “live a life worthy of the calling with which we have received” (Ephesians 4:1). Using a variety of venues, we challenge and encourage students to worship, grow, serve, and invite others to know Jesus Christ.
Join us for LifeHouse, the biggest teen event for Christ in Tehachapi. COBC also offers weeknight Bible studies for guys and girls (contact Nathan for schedule at 822-1379), and we meet every Sunday morning to study God’s word together at 9:00am.
One Sunday night per month, we offer LifeHouse which is an evening of worship, prayer and Christian fellowship for teenagers and their parents. We also offer 8-week high school Bible studies three times a year. The pastors have decided to use the resources of the church to promote family worship and spiritual growth within the home by equipping parents to be the “pastors of the home.” Therefore, we do not offer a weekly “youth group” or a place for teens to “hang out” at church. Instead, we encourage teens to socialize and fellowship with all Christians, young and old alike so that they can benefit from the wisdom of more mature believers and grow in humility and gentleness as they minister to the needs of little children. Though we are not against age segregated fellowship, we believe that the church should play a more limited role in providing such opportunities.

“Truth is relative. There are no absolutes. Truth is what you make it.” These are the messages our children are hearing everyday from their teachers, friends, movies, and books. But the Bible plainly teaches that God is truth and always tells the truth in His Word.
It’s clear we’re in a battle—a battle for truth between God’s good kingdom and the Enemy’s bad kingdom. We need to help our children stand strong in this battle by equipping them with the armor of God. At The Kingdom Chronicles, each day, they’ll learn to put on another piece of God’s armor that Paul writes about in Ephesians (Ephesians 6:10–18). As they fasten on the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, the shoes of peace, the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, covering everything with prayer, they’ll learn how to become mighty warriors for the Creator King of Kings!
Of course, the most important reason we want to encourage kids to trust the absolute truth of God’s Word is so that they’ll embrace the salvation message woven throughout each book. Our desire is that they’ll understand that they are each born as sinners—citizens of the enemy’s kingdom—and need to be saved into God’s good eternal kingdom through repentance and faith in Jesus Christ, the Savior King.
Adventure awaits as we mount our trusty steeds and ride to Answers VBS’s The Kingdom Chronicles, where kids stand strong in the battle for truth!
Bible Bee registration starts April 1st and closes May 31st for this year’s adventure.
In 2012 Phillip Anderson of Palmdale qualified to go to the Nationals at the Tehachapi Bible Bee Competition. He went on to win Second Place in the Junior Division and a $20,000 prize! See this Christian Post article for more information.
The goal of the Bible Bee is to encourage families to disciple their own children. The Bible Bee is a fun way to get started. We meet together monthly during the summer to encourage each other to keep pressing toward the goal of learning God’s Word together as a family. If you have participated in the past and been overwhelmed by the amount of Scripture and study required, you will be pleased to find only 20 minutes a day and 2 cards of memory verses per week are the goals for this year’s Bee. Please consider joining us as we walk through one book of Scripture and 100 verses during the summer months. You will be amazed at how much you and your children will be blessed and how much your entire family will learn.
Our local Bee will be held August 24th at Country Oaks Baptist Church. Come at 1 pm to Room 402 to see the Finals.
Go to http://www.BibleBee.org/TehachapiCA to sign up.
Tickets are available at the Beekay box office.
The fast action centers around a run-down hotel lobby in Moose Bottom Lake in northern Maine, where handyman Pete has written a newspaper article about Bigfoot kidnapping a local resident. Did we mention the story is complete fiction and was published in that tacky tabloid, “The National Divulger”? Nevertheless, the rumored sighting of Sasquatch provides the perfect excuse for Birch and Pine, assistants to the worst congressman in history, to suggest a trip to the senator. They have spent their careers trying to hide the inept congressman so he won’t speak in public and divulge his ludicrous ideas, such as turning the Grand Canyon into a giant lake! But with reporters hot on the congressman’s trail and lunatic guests pursuing Bigfoot, you can imagine the zany fun that converges at the hotel… especially when Pete decides the guests really should get a chance to see Bigfoot!
